Luke’s hometown fans were not surprised when he landed in the top five finalists on the seventh season of NBC’s The Voice\, where he was part of Team Pharrell. That’s a long way from growing up in Dublin\, a sultry little Texas town known for being the home of sugar cane Dr Pepper. The youngest of four children\, his insightful and thoughtful lyrics were inspired by his parents. Last year’s release of The River and a swell of media coverage have surrounded Luke since his appearance on The Voice. Luke surrounds himself with exceptional musicians and remains keenly aware as to his place in the musical equation. UT-Arlington doesn’t have football\, so the emphasis understandably fell on other sports including basketball and volleyball\, which previously had been played on an oversize theatrical stage at Texas Hall\, the latter most assuredly an exotic venue but not particularly amenable to either recruiting or collegiate athletic presence.” \nWhat’s next for big time sports at UT-Arlington? Participants meet once a month from 4:15 to 6:15 pm from September through April (except December).  Space is limited in each club. \nStudents can choose between Club 1 (meets the second Tuesday of the month) or Club 2 (meets the third Tuesday of the month). SUMMARY:Symphony Goes Wild – Ivan Donchev\, Piano
DESCRIPTION:Composers have always used imagination inspired from nature\, so it is no surprise that many have picked up their pens (or their quills!) to give us musical depictions of the fascinating creatures with whom we share the planet. Throughout the 2016‐17 Season\, Symphony Goes Wild\, the talented musicians of Symphony Arlington will offer the most delightful and entertaining of these philharmonic fauna\, from the smallest Mussorgsky’s Song of the Flea\, to the largest Hovhaness’ And God Created Great Whales. Our musical zoo will include horses (Copland)\, lions (Rorem)\, elephants (Mancini\, of course!)\, bears (Haydn and Bartok)\, Vaughan Williams (wasps)\, and Respighi (snakes!). Plus\, familiar favorites like the murmuring insects and serenading birds of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony\, along with the charms of Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals. \nBorn in Bulgaria in 1981\, Ivan Donchev began his musical studies at the age of five. Three years later he gave his first public recital and won his first international competition. In 1993 – at the age of twelve – he made his concerto debut with Burgas Philharmonic Orchestra performing Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D. In 1997 he has been awarded by the city of Burgas with the honorable prize “Talent of the year”. \n7:30pm – 10:00pm
