What: The City of Arlington will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its newest public art, a steel sculpture of a mended heart by artist Katy Boyton named “Heartfullness.” The sculpture, which stands 12 foot tall and 16 feet wide, debuted at Burning Man 2012. Before finding its permanent home in Arlington’s Entertainment District, “Heartfullness” was a featured art piece at Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, BottleRock Festival and Lighted Art Festival in Napa, Ghostship Halloween and Sunset Island Electronic Picnic in San Francisco.
Who: Speakers at the event are Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, Artist Katy Boyton, Jennifer Swofford with the American Heart Association, Creative Instigator Bob Pruitt and Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture Director Gary Packan.
When: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026
Where: The City of Arlington’s Dr. Robert Cluck Linear Park
Parking: Parking for the media and the public will be available in Cowboys Lot 4, east of AT&T Stadium. Please note, event attendees will need to enter Lot 4 from the south entrance off Cowboys Way. Parks staff will help guide attendees to the correct parking location.
Arlington Animal Services will be onsite with its mobile adoption unit, building on one of its highest live release rates in recent memory. This event is a great reminder that Arlington’s heart extends beyond our public spaces — and a perfect opportunity for anyone considering adding a four-legged family member to keep that momentum going.
