Laura graduated in 2002 from the National University of Colombia under the guidance of the Teacher and Pedagogue Polish Henryk Zarzycki. She developed a brilliant career in the field in her native orchestra, being Principal Cello of Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, Assistant Principal Cello in Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Cello of the National Orchestra of Colombia. Parallel to her artistic career, she was Professor of the Chair of Cello at the Central University and Universidad de los Andes. Winner of Young Performers of the Bank of the Republic in 1995 and the Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, Roberto Mantilla in 1999, Laura has been invited as a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota, Cundinamarca Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Valley, Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, Manila Chamber Orchestra, University Symphony Orchestra National Symphony Orchestra of the Central University Symphony Orchestra and Holguin (Cuba). She participated in National Festival of Chamber Music in Bogota, Popayan, Medellin, Tunja, Bucaramanga among others, and as International Chamber Music Festival Cuba, Carlos Prieto Festival in Mexico, in Puerto Rico FOSJA , Ukranian and TCU Cello Festival Music Festival in Fort Worth, USA. She has received master classes with teachers Aldo Parisot, Andres Diaz, Aldo Mata, William Molina, Christopher Adkins, and Asier Polo. Since 2008, Laura decided to resume her studies in improving the instrument with the Master Jesus Castro-Balbi at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Currently, she begins third season with Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra and Principal Cello Sinfonietta of Fort Worth.
