Keep Arlington Beautiful is looking for volunteers for an Earth Day and Great American Clean-Up Event! This Arlington Lake Clean-Up will take place April 22, 2017 from 8 AM to Noon at Richard Simpson Park – 6300 W. Arkansas Ln. 76016.
The goal is to improve the appearance of Lake Arlington and increase public awareness about how litter can affect water quality. Individuals, civic clubs, organizations, and student groups are being encouraged to register and volunteer.
Volunteers will assist on shore and off shore around Lake Arlington. Those that assist offshore will be taken by boat to tackle the heavily litter islands with City staff. All passengers must wear a life vest at all times while in the boat, provided by the City of Arlington.
All volunteer participants are reminded to wear long pants and sleeves, sturdy shoes or boots, and hats. No shorts or sandals will be allowed. Gloves, insect repellent, and trash bags will be provided by the City of Arlington.
Please note: Volunteers must be at least seven years old to participate and accompanied with a parent or guardian.
Light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided by Exelon.
