This August, Arlington Animal Services is partnering with NBCUniversal Local’s 12th pet adoption and donation campaign: Clear the Shelters. From August 1-31, the Arlington Public Library SE Branch will host a rotating display of our VIP pets. Follow our Facebook and Instagram to catch videos, photos, and more of these lovely animals who need a permanent home.
Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped 1.3 million pets find new homes, and has raised over $5.5 million for participating shelters and rescues! We are proud of contributing to this cause, and excited to get more pets adopted this year.
Adopting a pet from us includes all essential health costs, including the cost of spaying/neutering, city licenses, microchipping, core vaccines, rabies vaccine, and Heartworm/FeLV/FIV testing services, totaling about $90-100 per pet. Additionally, we have videos and resources on keeping your pet fed and healthy, to reduce the need to rehome your pet.

This year you can donate to Clear the Shelters online through Greater Good Charities, a global nonprofit and campaign partner. Visit the Greater Good Charities’ donation site during the campaign at ClearTheSheltersFund.org to donate to a participating shelter or rescue organization. You can also adopt a pet virtually through the WeRescue partner app. The app lets users locate adoptable pets in their area, submit their adoption applications, and ask questions directly to shelters.
