The Miracle League is a national organization with over 325 leagues across the U.S., dedicated to providing children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in a safe and inclusive environment.
The Miracle League of Arlington was founded in 2005 thanks to the vision and dedication of Doug Inman. After seeing a news broadcast about the Miracle League, Doug fell in love with the game and knew he wanted to bring this opportunity to Arlington. With the support of friends, community leaders, and key partnerships, the Miracle League of Arlington became a reality.
A crucial part of making this dream possible was the partnership with the City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers Foundation, both of whom played instrumental roles in establishing the league. Their support helped lay the foundation for an adaptive baseball program where every player, regardless of ability, gets the chance to experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime.
The Miracle League of Arlington was the first Miracle League in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Since then, several other leagues have formed, expanding opportunities for players across the region. These leagues work together to serve athletes with disabilities, ensuring that every player in our community has a place to play.
Since its inception, the Miracle League of Arlington has continued to grow, thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors. Companies like HistoryMaker Homes, Vandergriff Toyota, Vandergriff Acura, and Vandergriff Honda have made a lasting impact by funding key improvements. Most notably, we now have a handicap-accessible pavilion and a van-accessible, player-only parking lot—ensuring ease and comfort for all participants. Additionally, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation played a vital role in paving the new parking lot, further enhancing accessibility for families and players.
Each year, the Miracle League of Arlington hosts two seasons, serving more than 300 players with the help of over 900 dedicated volunteers. Local civic groups, businesses, and community members come together to support our athletes, creating a welcoming environment where players can thrive both on and off the field.
The continued success of the Miracle League of Arlington is a testament to the unwavering support of the community and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to play baseball.
